A little about Tooter Pants (from their website):
We are run by one family in a small town in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in Oregon. All of the products we have listed are products we have personally used, and think are a good choice to use for your family. Our first son, Rowan, has been cloth diapered since 4 months, and our second son, due at the end of March will be cloth diapered from birth. Anything that we can do to help make your cloth diapering experience better, let us know and we will do our best to help!
Jillian graciously sent me a Rumparooz Pocket Diaper in Crimson for my review.
(What I received)
(Rumparooz signature double gussets)
(Pocket with 6r soakers)
For the most part, I really liked this diaper. It is VERY well constructed, has a 4 rise settings, two rows of waist snaps (it is also available in aplix if you prefer!) the inside is super soft and the colors and prints are beautiful.
The diaper performed very well for us, we never had a leak or blowout and JR seemed very comfortable wearing it, I love red on him, so I was excited to be able to review a red diaper!
I did not use this diaper overnight, as I already have a good overnight diapering "routine" but it performed very well during naps. The inserts are VERY absorbent.
While I really liked this diaper, I did not love it. For a couple of reasons. This diaper has four rise settings, which makes me believe that it would probably fit a 7-8lb newborn, but it seem that overall, the rise is VERY short. According to their rise settings, JR would be wearing it on the largest setting, and it seemed too short on him even fully unsnapped. This diaper would not last him to potty learning. I do have a freakishly tall child though, at his 12 month appointment he was almost 33 inches tall, so if you have shorter or more averaged sized children, I can see this diaper lasting you quite some time. I am sad that it will not last us very long.
I also disliked that the inside of the diaper and insert seemed to pill and get dingy after just a few washes/uses. I know the dinginess can be fixed with sun and stripping, but I never have that problem with any of my other microfiber inserts.
The Diaper on JR
Overall, I would give this diaper 3/5 stars.
